1. Q. What is Pocket Streets?

  A. Pocket Streets is the newest addition to the Microsoft Automap product
  line. It is designed to give the H/PC user access to features formerly
  available only on a desktop or laptop computer.

2. Q. What do I need to use Pocket Streets?

  A. To use Pocket Streets, you need a Windows CE H/PC and a desktop or a laptop
  computer.

3. Q. How can I get a copy of Pocket Streets?

  A. Pocket Streets is available in the Hpc folder on the Expedia Streets 98
  CD-ROM, and some H/PC manufacturers include Pocket Streets on the
  installation CD-ROM for the H/PC. Pocket Streets is also available as a free
  download from the following Microsoft Web site:

4. Q. Can I use Pocket Streets on my desktop computer?

  A. Pocket Streets functions only with Microsoft Windows CE.

  A. Approximately 15 free maps are available for download from the following

  Sample maps of major metropolitan areas are also located in the Hpc\Maps
  folder on the Expedia Streets98 CD-ROM.

6. Q. Can I create maps for Pocket Streets from the maps in Microsoft Automap
  Streets Plus 97?

  A. You can use Streets 98 to create a Pocket Streets map of any area in the
  United States. However, the 1997 Edition of Microsoft Automap Streets Plus
  does not have the ability to export maps to Pocket Streets.

7. Q. Why are some details that are available in Streets Plus not available in
  Pocket Streets?

  A. To keep the maps small enough for the memory available on the H/PC, some
  information is not included in maps for Pocket Streets. Street addresses and
  Points of Interest are still available.

8. Q. Can I create or import pushpins for addresses and custom places in Pocket
  Streets?

  A. Pocket Streets, version 2.0 supports pushpins. When you export a map from
  Streets 98, the program creates a map file and a separate pushpins file that
  contains all open pushpins on the map. To use your pushpins with Pocket
  Streets, copy both the map file and the pushpins file to your H/PC device.

9. Q. What Points of Interest are available in Pocket Streets?

  A. Pocket Streets offers information on the following types of attractions:

   - Hotels and Motels
   - Bed and Breakfast
   - Restaurants
   - Museums and Galleries
   - Tourist Information

10. Q. How can I select and view Points of Interest?

  A. On the Options menu, tap Points of Interest. Click the items that you want
  to display. To prevent map clutter, Points of Interest are only shown at
  close zoom levels. To view the selected Points of Interest use the zoom
  control to select the desired area.

11. Q. The maps are difficult to read because of the dark background. How can I
  change this?

  A. You can select a different background color from Map Styles on the Options
  menu.

12. Q. Can I search for an address outside the currently loaded map?

  A. Pocket Streets can only search for addresses in the currently loaded map.
  To find an address in another area, open the map of that area, and then find
  the address.

13. Q. How do I report inaccurate or incomplete information on Pocket Streets?

  A. To report content and map errors in Pocket Streets, please send a detailed
  message about the error to the following e-mail address:
