SYMPTOMS
========

When allocating a 5250 conversation using a double byte character set (DBCS)
code page and the single signon feature, the following advanced
program-to-program communications (APPC) return code may result:

  Primary Return Code: 0003 AP_ALLOCATION_ERROR
  Secondary Return Code: 10086021 AP_TP_NAME_NOT_RECOGNIZED.

The partner LU does not recognize the TP name specified in the allocation
request.

The following trace excerpt shows the TP name being 0x066F646E:

CAUSE
=====

This problem occurs when you use WideCharToMultiByte() API on DBCS platforms.

RESOLUTION
==========

A change was made to Sec400.dll so that the WideCharToMultiByte () API is not
used to convert the EBCDIC TP name.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SNA Server version 3.0. This
problem was corrected in the latest Microsoft SNA Server 3.0 U.S. Service Pack.
