SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to install MSN, The Microsoft Network, you may receive an error
message similar to the following error message:

  Video not available 'VIDS:IV32' decompressor.

The exact text of the error message may vary depending on the type of compression
that was used to compress the file. Specifically, the "IV32" portion of the
error message may be replaced by "CVID."

CAUSE
=====

Windows 95 Video Compression is not installed or is installed improperly.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, install or reinstall the Windows Video Compression
tool. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.

3. On the Windows Setup tab, click Multimedia, and then click Details.

4. Click the Video Compression check box to select it.

  NOTE: If the Video Compression check box is already selected, follow These
  steps:
  a. Click the Video Compression check box to clear it.

  b. Click OK.

  c. Click Apply, and then click OK.

  d. Follow steps 1-4.

5. Click OK.

6. Click Apply.

7. If you are prompted to insert the Windows 95 disks or CD-ROM, do so.

8. If you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
