SYMPTOMS

When you use the Visual Basic for Applications Selection property to return
selected text in a document, question marks appear instead of the expected
characters.
CAUSE
=====
The selected text contains text that has been formatted with a Symbol type font
such as Symbol or WingDings.
STATUS
======
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are
