SYMPTOMS
========
When you attempt to read Internet newsgroups on netnews.msn.com, you may not see
any content or you may receive an error message.
CAUSE
=====
This behavior can occur if Microsoft Internet News is not properly configured to
read Internet newsgroups on netnews.msn.com.
RESOLUTION
==========
To configure Internet News to read Internet newsgroups on netnews.msn.com,
follow these steps:
1. Start Internet News, and on the News menu, click Options, and then click the
Server tab.
2. Type your name and e-mail address in the appropriate boxes.
3. In the News Server(s) box, click Add, and then in the News Server Name box,
type netnews.msn.com.
4. Click to select the Cannot Connect to Newsgroups on Netnews.msn.com News
Server check box, and then, under Logon Settings, click Logon Using Secure
Password Authentication.
5. Click the Connection tab, and then click I use a modem to access my
newsgroups.
6. In the Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection box, click MSN, and
then click OK.
7. Click OK until you return to Windows.
