SYMPTOMS
========

If you copy and paste a graphic from one Web page to another, select the pasted
image, and then insert a hyperlink, the image appears as a placeholder showing a
circle, square, and triangle.

WORKAROUND
==========

To work around this problem, follow these steps:

1. Open the original Web page containing the image you want.

2. Right-click the image and click Save Picture As.

3. Choose a location and type a name for the image and Click Save.

4. Switch to the second document.

5. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.

6. Select the image you saved in step 3 and click Insert.

7. Select the image and click Hyperlink on the Insert menu.

8. In the Link to File or URL box, type the URL and click OK.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are
listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem is corrected in Microsoft Word 2000 for Windows.
