max_element STL function in Visual C++.

NOTE: The class/parameter names in the prototype do not match the original
version in the header file. They have been modified to improve readability.

Description
-----------

The max_element algorithm returns the location of the maximum element in the
sequence [first, last).

The predicate version of max_element uses compare function for comparisons.
