SYMPTOMS
========

Your computer may stop responding (hang) if you attempt to change the display
resolution while running one of the games listed at the top of this article. If
you are running one of the games listed at the top of this article in less than
256 colors or greater than 256 colors, you may receive an error message similar
to the following:

  Monsterx has caused an invalid page fault in Monsterx.exe at xxxx:xxxx

After the error message appears, the computer hangs.

CAUSE
=====

This problem can occur if you attempt to change the number of colors by pressing
ALT+TAB to switch to the Display Options while one of the games listed at the
top of this article is running.

You may also receive this error message when you attempt to use QuickRes to
change the color palette display setting while the game is running.

RESOLUTION
==========

Do not attempt to change the color palette setting in Windows while the game is
running.

Quit the game before you change the color setting, restart the computer, and then
restart the game.
