SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to start Encarta World Atlas for Windows, you receive the
following error message:

  One of the files needed to run Encarta World Atlas is not usable. Please
  reinstall Encarta World Atlas by inserting the Microsoft Encarta 96 World
  Atlas CD into your CD drive and clicking on the Setup icon.

CAUSE
=====

This error message appears if one or more of the fonts that Encarta World Atlas
installs and uses are missing or damaged.

RESOLUTION
==========

Use the Fonts Control Panel to remove the following fonts:

Msgeoax2.ttf   Arial Special G2 Bold Italic

Msgeonb2.ttf   Arial Narrow Special G2 Bold
Msgeoni1.ttf   Arial Narrow Special G1 Italic
Msgeoni2.ttf   Arial Narrow Special G2 Italic

After you have removed all of the above fonts, run the Encarta World Atlas Setup
program and select the Remove All option. After the Setup removal process is
complete, run the Setup program again to reinstall Encarta World Atlas and
restore the missing fonts.
