This article describes how to use the 32-bit PowerPoint 95 viewer self-
extracting file Pptvw32.exe to create a PowerPoint Viewer disk set.
Pptvw32.exe is posted on many online sites, but it is too large to fit on a
single 3.5-inch high-density disk.
NOTE: The information in this article does not apply to the PowerPoint Viewer 97
self-extracting file, Ppview97.exe. For information about creating a disk set

To create PowerPoint Viewer for Windows 95 disks, follow these steps:
1. Create a new folder called Ppvw95.
2. Run Pptvw32.exe.
3. When the Licensing Agreement dialog box appears, click Yes. When the Welcome
Window appears, minimize the Setup program.
4. On the Start Menu, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.
5. In the Named box, type:
"View951.cab" (without the quotation marks)
Click Find Now.
6. Use Windows Explorer to open the folder found in step 5. This folder contains
the following files:
SETUP.EXE 73,152 12-18-95 12:00p
LICENSE.TXT 4,915 12-18-95 12:00p
PPTV.INF 2,670 12-18-95 12:00p
PPVWREAD.TXT 5,178 12-18-95 12:00p
EXTRACT.EXE 87,916 12-18-95 12:00p
SETUP.INI 149 12-20-95 12:44p
SETUP.LST 1,320 12-18-95 12:00p
SETUP.STF 17,334 12-18-95 12:00p
SETUP.TDF 84 12-20-95 12:45p
VIEW951.CAB 1,254,400 12-18-95 12:00p
VIEW952.CAB 163,673 12-18-95 12:00p
Copy these files to the Ppvw95 folder.
7. Switch to the Viewer Setup program and complete it.
8. When the Setup program is complete, copy all the files (except View952.cab)
from the Ppvw95 folder to a blank 3.5-inch (high-density) disk. Label the
disk:
PowerPoint Viewer for Windows 95 (Disk 1 of 2).
9. Copy the View952.cab file from the Ppvw95 folder onto a blank 3.5-inch
(high-density) disk. Label this disk:
PowerPoint Viewer for Windows 95 (Disk 2 of 2)
You can now install PowerPoint Viewer for Windows 95 to another computer by
running the Setup.exe located on Disk 1.
