SYMPTOMS
========

If you install an SMC 8216 EtherCard Elite Ultra during the initial installation
of Windows NT 4.0, you may receive an error message on a blue screen. After
Windows NT is installed, you can successfully install this network adapter from
the Network option in Control Panel.

RESOLUTION
==========

To prevent this error from occurring during Windows NT Setup, install the SMC
8416 EtherEZ network adapter. This driver works with the SMC 8216 EtherCard
Elite 16 Ultra. After Setup is complete, change the driver from the Network
option in Control Panel.
