SYMPTOMS
========

When you save a file in Word 6.0/95 format, if the file contains either the
REVNUM or the EDITTIME field, an incorrect value is displayed when the field is
updated.

CAUSE
=====

This is due to a problem in the Word 6.0/95 binary converter (Wrd6ex32.cnv).

RESOLUTION
==========

Obtain the latest Word 6.0/95 binary converter shipped with Microsoft Office 97
Service Release 2 (SR-2).

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the
beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 97
Service Release 2 (SR-2).
