SYMPTOMS
========
When you first attempt to connect to MSN after you sign up, you may receive an
error message stating that the phone numbers are not valid.
CAUSE
=====
If only one access number is available in your area and you click "Cancel"
during sign-up, the backup access number box remains blank. If the backup number
is blank, you receive an error message stating that the phone numbers are not
valid when you try to connect.
RESOLUTION
==========
To resolve this issue, select a backup access number for your MSN Internet
connection:
1. Right-click the MSN icon on the desktop, and then click Connection Settings.
2. Click Access Numbers, and then click Change.
3. Next to "Backup", select an appropriate backup access number for your area,
and then click OK until you return to your Windows desktop.
