This article describes how to install the Chat tool from the Windows 95 CD-ROM.
This tool is not installed by default when you install Windows 95.

To install Chat from the Windows 95 CD-ROM, follow these steps:

1. In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.

2. On the Windows Setup tab, click Have Disk.

3. Click Browse, click the CD-ROM drive in the Drives box, double-click the
  Other folder, double-click the Chat folder, click OK, and then click OK
  again.

4. Click the Chat check box in the list of components so that it is selected,
  and then click Install.

5. Click OK.

6. Create a shortcut to Netdde.exe in the Windows\Startup folder. For
  information about creating shortcuts, search for "shortcuts" by clicking the
  Start button and then clicking Help.

7. Restart your computer.

The Chat tool is added to the Accessories menu.

NOTE: The Chat tool is not included in the floppy disk version of Windows 95, but
is available in the CD-ROM Extras for Microsoft Windows 95 Upgrade. For
