SYMPTOMS
========
You may be able to connect to MSN, The Microsoft Network, using the MSN icon and
the service type Internet And The Microsoft Network. However, when you try to
connect using the Internet icon, you may receive a message stating that your
password is invalid.
If you connect using the MSN icon and service type Internet And The Microsoft
Network and then double-click the Internet icon, the MSN Sign Up window appears.
RESOLUTION
==========
To resolve this issue, remove the Dial-Up Adapter and run the Internet Setup
Wizard again.
To remove the Dial-Up Adapter
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Network.
3. Click TCP/IP Dial-Up Adapter, and then click Remove.
4. Click OK and then click YES to restart your computer.
5. Double-click the MSN icon and follow the instructions for reinstalling the
network components.
To run the Internet Setup Wizard
1. Click Start, point to Programs, then point to Accessories.
2. Point to Internet Tools, and then click Internet Setup Wizard.
Finally, right-click the Internet Explorer desktop icon, to open the Internet
Properties window, click the Connection tab and ensure that MSN is the Dial-Up
Networking connection that is to be used to access the Internet.
