SYMPTOMS
========

When you are performing an object linking and embedding (OLE) task, you may
receive one of the following error messages:

  Failed to create object. Make sure that the object is entered in the system
  registry.

  The server application, source file, or item cannot be found. Make sure the
  application is properly installed, and that it has not been deleted, moved,
  or renamed.

  Cannot insert object.

CAUSE
=====

This problem can occur if your computer's name contains the "@" (at sign)
character.

RESOLUTION
==========

Change your computer's name. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Double-click the Network icon in Control Panel.

2. On the Identification tab, change the name in the Computer Name box so that
  it does not contain the "@" character.

3. Click OK.
