ADDITIONAL SITUATIONS

Included with Microsoft Japan are four situations that offer scenic
flights over Japan: JPN - Buzz NASDA, JPN - Dawn over Kyushu Island,
JPN - Ginza district at dusk, and JPN - Mt. Ontake flyby. There are
also two more situations that you can use with the adventures in the
Microsoft Japan Scenery Guide: JPN - Inland Sea tour and JPN - Tokyo,
Mt. Fuji tour. You can open these situations by choosing Situations
from the Options menu, and then choosing the situation you want from the
list.

 SOME TRIP SUGGESTIONS

 Navigation

1) Fly using your navigation instruments from Tokyo to Iwo Jima.
Without careful navigation you can easily get lost.

2) Start at Yonaguni and island-hop to Kagoshima on Kyushu Island.
The charts provide all the navigation frequencies that you need.

 Scenic Areas

1) Start at Amami Airport and fly around Amami Island. Investigate
the bays and channels at the south end of the island.

2) Start at Ishigaki Airport and head west to the next large island
   (Iriomote National Park).

3) Start at Utsunomiya Airport, turn to heading 311 and fly over to
Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji (clear the foothills on the way).

4) Explore the coastlines of Japan almost anywhere.

 Mountains

1) Start at Toyama Airport and turn to heading 111. Climb to 10,000
ft and turn south over the highest peaks. Continue south and
   explore the Japanese Alps.

2) Start at Hakodate Airport and turn to heading 347. Fly over Mt.
Komagatake and turn to heading 028, crossing Uchiura Bay to Lake
Toyako. Over the lake, turn to 001 toward Mt. Yoteizan, then 065,
descending through the mountains to Sapporo. Fly down the ODori
Promenade under the Sapporo Tower and bank left to the Sapporo
   Airport.

3) Start at Fukushima Airport and turn to heading 318 to Lake
Inawashiro. Cross the lake and at the town (Aizuwakamatsu), turn
to 267, and then follow the valley to Lake Numazawa. Follow the
canyon to the left until you reach Lake Tagokura. Follow the right
arm of the lake up the canyon to the next lake, Lake Okutadami.
Follow the center arm of Lake Okutadami, cross the mountains at
its end (staying right) and descend to Lake Okutone. Follow the
valley south to the northern outskirts of the Tokyo area.

4) Explore the mountains of Shikoku flying from Takamatsu to Kochi.

5) Explore Kyushu. Follow the backbone of the island from Kagoshima
   to Oita.

 Cities

1) Start at Tokyo Narita and turn west toward Tokyo Bay. Follow the
shoreline around Tokyo Bay passing (in order) the cities of
Funabashi, Tokyo, Kawasaki, and Yokohama. Turn around and fly
back to Tokyo Haneda Airport (which you crossed between Tokyo
   and Yokohama).

2) Start at Osaka and head for downtown (see the Inland Sea Adventure
in the Microsoft Japan Scenery Guide). At the large river (
Yodogawa), turn left and follow it to Kyoto. Explore Kyoto and
Lake Biwa east of Kyoto. From the southwest end of Lake Biwa, head
south over the hills and into the valley beyond and explore the
   Nara area.

  NOTES ON SCENERY USE

The quantity of mountains in certain areas exceeds the capabilities
of the Normal image complexity option. Choose Scenery Complexity
from the Scenery menu, and then choose the Dense option (or higher)
next to Image Complexity in order to see all of the mountains in
  the following areas:

    -Central and Western Kyushu Island
    -Hiroshima Bay
-Inland Sea between Hiroshima and Okayama
-Central Honshu Island between Tokyo, Niigata, Toyama, and Nagoya

It is possible to land on the following bridges:
    -Tokyo Harbor Rainbow Bridge
    -Yokohama Bay Bridge
    -Seto Ohashi Bridge

  LIST OF DETAILS IN SCENERY

Note that some of the objects (or parts of objects) listed below
require high density image complexity settings in order for you
to see them. For example, the night lighting and some of the
suspension cables on the Seto Ohashi bridge are only visible when
you choose the Dense option for Image Complexity.

The coordinates indicated below, place you at the center of each
object. With smaller objects, you may need to move around a bit
before you see them. If the object is tall (a mountain for
example), you may be inside it until you select an appropriate
  altitude.
