SYMPTOMS
========

When your computer system running the DLC protocol is operating under stress, a
STOP Message may occur.

Note: DLC tried to free a null pointer after failing to allocate from paged pool.
This resulted in the memory access violation.

CAUSE
=====

On a heavily-used system, an attempt to allocate a packet from non-paged pool
fails. During the failure handling process, an incorrect deallocation
referencing a null pointer is performed.

RESOLUTION
==========

DLC.SYS has been corrected. The memory allocation failure is handled and
deallocation is performed correctly.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT Workstation and
Windows NT Server version 3.5. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S.
Service Pack for Windows NT version 3.5. For information on obtaining the
