SYMPTOMS
========

When you use a utility called SmartStart on Compaq computers to install Windows
NT Advanced Server version 3.1 , the option to import the LMHOSTS file is not
available. Because of this, domain synchronization between this domain
controller and the primary domain controller may not occur.

MORE INFORMATION
================

Compaq ships Windows NT version 3.1, Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1,
Novell NetWare, and SCO UNIX bundles with some of their computer systems. This
package includes a utility called SmartStart which helps you install any one of
the above network operating systems by entering all requested information.
SmartStart does not prompt for importing the LMHOSTS file when installing
Windows NT Advanced Server 3.1.
