SUMMARY
=======

You can use the Microsoft PowerPoint, version 7.0 16-bit Viewer for Windows to
display PowerPoint electronic slide shows under Windows if you don't have
Microsoft PowerPoint installed. The PowerPoint Viewer runs on Windows 3.1 and
later, Windows NT 3.5 and later, and on Windows 95. It allows you to view
PowerPoint files created and saved in PowerPoint for Windows, versions 2.0
through 4.0, PowerPoint for Windows 95, version 7.0, or PowerPoint for the
Macintosh, versions 3.0 through 4.0.

Microsoft has placed the Viewer for Windows in a self-extracting file named
Pptvw16.exe on several online information sources. For more information about
downloading this file from online services, see the section of this article
called "To Obtain Pptvw16.exe."

In addition, Pptvw16.exe contains a translator for PowerPoint 4.0 for Windows.
When you install this translator, PowerPoint 4.0 can open and edit presentation
files created in PowerPoint for Windows 95, version 7.0.

You can copy and distribute the PowerPoint Viewer and Translator on a disk, which
you can create by following the instructions in the Readme.txt file contained in
Pptvw16.exe.

- Hard disk

- 3.5-inch high-density (1.44 MB) disk drive

- VGA display supported by Windows 3.1 or later recommended

- Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
