SYMPTOMS
========

If you use Creative Writer or Fine Artist with a Sound Galaxy sound card, you
may experience the following problems:

- When you start Creative Writer or Fine Artist, the volume defaults to Off
  (-).

- If you move the volume slider in the Studio to its maximum setting (+), it
  returns to Off (-), even though sounds become audible.

- When you change the volume level, you may receive an error message indicating
  that you can only set the volume to either maximum (+) or minimum (-).

STATUS
======

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

The Sound Galaxy sound card is manufactured by a vendor independent of Microsoft;
