SUMMARY
=======

When you attempt to capture an AVI sequence that contains both audio and video
information from Microsoft's Video for Window's VidCap utility, you may get the
error message:

  Can't open wave input device, check sample size, frequency and channels.

This error occurs if you are using various third-party applications that are
designed to apply sounds to events within the Windows environment. Specifically,
this problem has been found to occur if you are using any of the following sound
applications:

1. ICON Hear It Version 1.0.

2. Wired for Sound Version 2.01.

3. Whoop It Up (ShareWare).

Removing or temporarily disabling these applications may resolve the problem.
