SYMPTOMS
========

When installing the "SMC EtherCard Plus Elite /A" Microchannel card in Windows
for Workgroups, the card may not be detected correctly because it is not
directly supported.

WORKAROUND
==========

Standard Micro Systems (SMC) technical support has confirmed that when prompted
for the card type in Windows for Workgroups Setup, you should select:

  "SMC (WD) ETHERCARD PLUS /A (MCA) (WD 8003E/A OR 8003ET/A)"
