Video Graphics Controller Board, or VGC, is the name Compaq uses for the
VGA card included with older Compaq computers. If you install Microsoft
Windows on such a machine, you must select the VGA option.

Because of this card's ambiguous name, many people incorrectly install
Windows with the CGA or EGA option. If you have the Compaq VGC and Windows
stops responding on the startup screen, you must reinstall using the VGA
option.
