SUMMARY
=======

The Orange 386 is a Nubus card that allows Apple Macintosh you to run MS-DOS and
Windows-based applications on a second "computer" inside the Macintosh. This
board allows the Macintosh to emulate an IBM-compatible computer. After you
install this board, you can install Microsoft MS-DOS and then Microsoft
Windows.

NOTE: Microsoft has not tested the Orange 386, and therefore cannot guarantee its
results.

To install Windows on a Macintosh, you may need to add additional memory. When
the Macintosh's monitor is used, a CGA video driver must be used; however, most
Macintosh users can install a VGA board and attach a VGA monitor.

Features of the Orange 386 Card
-------------------------------

- Onboard 16, 29, or 25 MHz 80386SX processor

- Four onboard SIMM sockets that house up to 16 MB

- Two PC/AT-compatible expansion slots (one 8-bit slot and one 16-bit slot)

- CGA emulation in a Macintosh window

- Full-screen VGA with a PC VGA card and an IBM-compatible monitor

- Dedicated PC serial (COM1), parallel (LPT1), and floppy driver port

- Macintosh SuperDrive emulation of high-density 3.5-inch PC floppy drive as
  drive A

- Orange Micro mouse driver for Windows included (OMMOUSE.DRV, MOUSE.COM)

- Direct connection to any PC-dominated network by adding an IBM-compatible
  network adapter

- PostScript printing to an Apple-networked PostScript printer by printing to
  emulated LPT2

  This can be set up by creating a logical port in Windows (LPT2.DOS) and
  selecting the appropriate Windows PostScript printer driver.

NOTE: The IIsi works only with CGA on a Macintosh-compatible monitor.

SMARTDrive and the Orange 386 Card
----------------------------------

SMARTDrive (SMARTDRV.EXE) version 4.0 is fully compatible with the Orange 386.
Earlier versions of SMARTDrive are not compatible with the Orange 386 and should
not be installed.
