SUMMARY
=======

If you attempt to print from the Microsoft Windows version 3.1 Write program,
you may receive some of the error messages below. These messages indicate that
your Universal Printer Driver (UNIDRV.DLL) is corrupted or missing.

NOTE: These error messages are not exclusive to Write or the Universal Printer
Driver. If you get these error messages, check the driver file's size and date,
and reinstall it if necessary.

Starting Write
--------------

You may receive the following error messages when starting Write:

  Cannot find UNIDRV.DLL.

  Cannot print.

Make sure that your printer is connected properly, and use the Printers icon in
the Control Panel to verify that the printer is configured properly.

In addition, the Print command on the File menu will be unavailable (dimmed).

With Print Manager Active
-------------------------

You may receive the following error message when Print Manager is active:

  Print Manager

  The printer on LPT1 is out of paper or is not connected to your computer.
  Check the printer cable or network connection to make sure the printer is
  connected, or refresh the paper supply. Then resume the print queue.

With Print Manager Inactive
---------------------------

You may receive the following error messages when Print Manager is not active:

  LPT1

  The printer on this port is out of paper or is not connected to your
  computer.

  Check the printer cable or network connection to make sure the printer is
  connected, or refresh the printer's paper supply, and then resume the print
  queue.

With Fast Printing Direct To Port Option Disabled
-------------------------------------------------

You may receive the following error messages when the Fast Printing Direct To
Port option is disabled:

  LPT1

  The printer on this port is not responding.

  Check the printer or increase the Transmission Retry value in the Printers
  Connect dialog box, and then resume the print queue.
