Page 76 of the "Microsoft Flight Simulator Aircraft & Scenery Designer
User's Guide" states the following:

To Set a Timer
--------------

1. To start the timer, press SHIFT+6.

2. To stop the timer, press SHIFT+4.

3. To reset the timer, press SHIFT+5.

To Set the Altitude Alert Warning
---------------------------------

1. To set the left digit, press SHIFT+1, and then press the PLUS key to increase
  the warning altitude; press the MINUS key to decrease the warning altitude.

2. To set the right digit, press SHIFT+3, and then press the PLUS key to
  increase the warning altitude; press the MINUS key to decrease the warning
  altitude.

To Set Pitot Heat
-----------------

To turn the Pitot heat on or off, press SHIFT+7.

The manual should also state that the number to press for these key combinations
is on the keypad, not on the top row of the keyboard.
