To search for and replace control characters with the M editor, use
the following procedure:

1. Invoke the search and replace function (CTRL+\).

   The editor prompts with "Query Search String:".

2. Invoke the quote function (CTRL+P).

3. Type the control character and press ENTER.

   The editor prompts with "Replace string:".

4. Invoke the quote function.

5. Type the control character.
